    Animated objects not visible

    Resolved

    Hi,

    Thanks for the help with my previous query.

    I have an issue with some of the animated content on my site (in development). For example the animation is set to slide in from the left; sometimes the first time I view that page it does exactly as requested and sometimes it works consistently too. However, on other occasions the content fails to appear. By mouse hovering over the page the content is there, it is just not visible…

    Thanks in advance,

    James

    (if you need to see the site, let me know and we’ll need to set up a private way of sharing the address to keep it hidden from the public at this point)

    Hi James,

    Please note that the theme does not contain any of such functionality. You must be referring to Beaver Builder page builder functionality. If you experience issues with this plugin, please contact the plugin support or check the plugin documentation at http://kb.wpbeaverbuilder.com/ However, I’m almost 100% sure they will need to access your website to check this issue.

    Regards,

    Oliver

    Hi,

    I’ve been in touch with the Beaver Builder support and they have identified a javascript error that occurs in conjunction with animation and the Q’tron theme (attached). They have suggested getting back in touch with you…?

    Any help appreciated,

    James

    Hi,

    Indeed, the script is within the theme. Can you please provide the URL to the affected page so I can check personally and replicate the layout on my server to examine possible solution?

    Thank you and best regards,

    Oliver

    Hi,

    Please note that I’ve applied new design and functionality to this support forum yesterday, so you must have hit it during the process and that’s why you couldn’t reply to other ticket.

    Please try to flush your browser cache and cookies now to refresh this support website functionality and styles as you might get cached version in your browser.

    Thank you for the link provided. I can see you are using custom header style, so the solution in this case will be easy as you don’t need to use that theme script. You can dequeue it using this code in your child theme‘s functions.php file:

    function child_theme_register_scripts( $scripts ) {
      $scripts['wm-scripts-global']['deps'] = array_diff( (array) $scripts['wm-scripts-global']['deps'], array( 'background-check' ) );
      return $scripts;
    }
    add_filter( 'wmhook_wm_register_assets_register_scripts', 'child_theme_register_scripts' );

    Best regards,

    Hi James,

    I am trying to replicate this issue on my server as I’m working on a theme update now.

    I’ve actually found out, judging from the screenshot you have posted previously (I’ve deleted it meanwhile), that the JavaScript error was pointing to “cross-origin data”. This usually means the data (image, for example) loaded from different domains. This error can also occur when loading assets from the same domain but with http://..., while your website is on https://..., or vice versa.

    If I look at your website, it is not on https but the images in Intro section are loaded as https. At least those I’ve checked.

    I strongly suggest setting up your website to load via https. You can do this via .htaccess file, or ask your hosting provider to assist, or use a WordPress plugin for that.

    This should actually resolve your issue without removing the theme script I’ve suggested in my previous reply.

    Best regards,

    Hi Oliver,

    When this development site is complete it will be moved to the main page, which is https. That may well be the issue that affected some of the images, but why would it affect the text?

    I’ll look at removing the bit of code when it moves over to https.

    Hi James,

    The issue affected JavaScript. So, if you’ve had anything animated on the page, that would be affected too, no matter if it’s image, text, video or anything else.
