    Change Height of intro header and intro widgets?

    Resolved

    Hey,

    I’m trying to change the height of the intro header on Reykjavik theme, just want it to be a bit smaller.

    I did manage to try some custom CSS but it only changed the height of the overlay…

    And is it possible using CSS to change the height of the page title section also? I just want to get to the content quicker.

    Other than that I adore this theme, it’s so wonderful to work with.

    Thanks,

    Carolyn

    Hi Carolyn,

    Thank you, I’m glad you like the theme :)

    You can use this custom CSS to make the front page special intro narrower (default is 12%):

    .intro-special {
    	padding-top: 6%;
    	padding-bottom: 6%;
    }

    As for page title, you can use this custom CSS, for example:

    .site .intro-inner {
    	padding-top: 2em;
    	padding-bottom: 2em;
    }

    .intro-special .intro-inner {
    	padding-top: 0;
    	padding-bottom: 0;
    }

    If you want to make the intro image smaller, you can:

    1. Use Simple Image Sizes plugin to set your custom image height for theme’s reykjavik-intro image size (default is 1920 × 1080 px, as seen in Settings → Media → “Recommended image sizes”).
    2. Then you can use Force Regenerate Thumbnails plugin to regenerate the sizes of your existing images.

    A tip: You can try using your web browser inspector to determine what CSS you need to use to override the theme default styles.
