    home page intro image overlay

    Resolved

    Hi,

    Thanks for the Reykjavik theme. I really like it.

    Is it possible to modify, or remove, the darkening effect on the intro image on the home page?

    thanks

    Hi nathan7799,

    Thank you, I’m glad you like the theme ;)

    You should be able to remove the front page intro overlay using this custom CSS:

    .intro-special .wp-custom-header::before {
      display: none;
    }

    Hi Oliver,
    Thanks for the quick reply. A follow-up question – can I edit the colours of the page title and excerpt as displayed in the front page intro? (WordPress novice, as you can probably guess.)
    Thanks
    Nathan

    Hi Nathan,

    Please note that your questions are all related to front page intro area, which colors can not be controlled via theme options, so you need to use custom CSS. For faster resolution of your issues you can use your browser’s code inspector to determine what CSS styles you need to apply.

    This is purely a design decision as the theme applies dark overlay over the intro area on front page, so the only viable option for text is white color ;)

    To change this, please apply this custom CSS:

    .intro-special .intro {
    	color: #ff0000;
    }

    BTW, if you are new to WordPress, the theme documentation contains some helpful articles and video tutorials links. https://webmandesign.github.io/docs/reykjavik/#wordpress
