    Hi Oliver,
I really enjoy the Modern theme, so I looked at your other themes, and it seems that the Icelander theme is an upgrade of the Modern theme. Is that right? I have not purchased premium themes before and would like to ask some questions before purchasing one.

Is Icelander more optimized than Modern? My pingdom score for Modern is at 68, but I’m not sure if that’s related to the theme (see link).

The Envato Market link seems to be broken: https://www.webmandesign.eu/portfolio/icelander-wordpress-theme/
Is this the right link? https://themeforest.net/item/icelander-accessible-business-portfolio-woocommerce-wordpress-theme/20138825

The Portfolio post type on Modern requires the Jetpack. Does Icelander require Jetpack for projects? (I prefer not to use Jetpack)

Do you have plans to update the accessibility to WCAG 2.1 and beyond (rather than just 2.0)?

On the Projects Archive page: https://themedemos.webmandesign.eu/icelander/projects/
Above the projects lists the categories. Is there a way to enable that on the blog as well (https://themedemos.webmandesign.eu/icelander/blog/?blog_style=masonry)?

I apologize if these questions don’t belong to the same ticket. Last time, I forgot to separate them, but this time all the questions seem relevant to each other, and I wanted to clarify before I purchase the theme.

    Thanks,
    Theodore

    Hi Theodore,

I’m sorry but Icelander is not an upgrade of Modern. The only upgrade theme I provide is Mustang Lite to Mustang theme. All the other themes are functional on their own they may use different plugins to provide the functionality.

In case of Modern the portfolio is provided by Jetpack plugin and in case of Icelander it is provided by WebMan Amplifier plugin. However, when doing this kind of switch you should be able to simply convert a post type using a plugin.

Is Icelander more optimized than Modern?

Not necessarily. From what I see the issues in Pingdom Tools: the “Compress components with gzip”, “Use cookie-free domains” and “Add Expires headers” is not related to the theme and the “Make fewer HTTP requests” is different in every theme and can/should be mitigated using a caching plugin.

The Envato Market link seems to be broken

I’m not sure what you mean. Both of those links are working perfectly fine for me. The only difference is that one points to my own website and the other one points to ThemeForest website where I sell the theme. The information about the theme on both pages is the same though.

Do you have plans to update the accessibility to WCAG 2.1 and beyond (rather than just 2.0)?

There is no need to actually. There were no changes in 2.1 that would require a theme update. Maybe just the information I provide in theme description is outdated, that’s all :)

Above the projects lists the categories. Is there a way to enable that on the blog as well?

No, I’m sorry, this functionality is not included in any of my themes and will require custom coding via your child theme.

    Best regards,
