    wrong url fontello.css location

    Dears,
    I migrated my website to a new domain. I already changed the url in the section “Appearance > Customize > Theme” but in “Appearance > Icon fonts” remain the wrong url for the file fontello.css and I don’t know where modify the url. There’s only the option to upload a new fontello zip as shown in the screenshot. (dentalmanagement is the old domain, dentalmonitor is the new one). For this reason I see all the icons in my website missing. Can you help me to understand which file or section can I modify to change the url of the fontello.css location?

    Hi,

    During migration you need to be very careful not to break any serialized data in DB. The theme stores its settings and icon font settings in serialized database records. Fixing these is as simple as:

    • Navigate to Appearance > Icon Font and resave the settings. That way the URL of the icon font files will be refreshed to point to your current WordPress URL.
    • Navigate to Appearance > Customize > Theme and change some setting. Than change it back and save the changes. That way the main theme stylesheet will refresh and also all the URL used within.

    Hello, the same issue is happening to me above. I followed the steps but yet still luck. I still get the error and no icons! Help, what next?

    Hi sophiamarietaylor,

    Please follow the website migration knowledge base article. Please make sure you have correct file permissions set for WordPress folders so the theme can regenerate the stylesheets (as stated in the article). If it still does not work for you, please provide admin access to your website.

    Thank you so much for your quick reply. We did try to follow the instructions above and originally had no luck. We added an SSL certificate to the site and it actually fixed the Icon issue, BUT created a much larger issue. We are getting a mixed content error and not able to have everything which over. It seems to be having a hard time converting to the new domain. Thank you for your help, this has been difficult for us.

    Hi sophiamarietaylor,

    Before I proceed, please make sure your Forstron theme is up to date (current version is 1.6.1). https://webmandesign.github.io/docs/forstron/#update

    After switching domains/enabling SSL, you need to make sure your plugins update the URLs used in them too. For example, you can do this in Beaver Builder page builder by flushing its cache. If you are using other plugins to generate theme content, please refer to plugin documentation and/or support for how to make the plugin content SSL ready. (Just to let you know, WebMan Amplifier plugin does this automatically, so you do not need to do anything – except refreshing that icon font stylesheet URL.) Other than that, the mixed content issues are most likely related to your page content. Please check those using your browser code inspector (console) and take appropriate actions, fixing your website content.

    Thank you for this! I actually hired an outside SSL specialist who was able to fix it in about 5 minutes. I so appreciate your quick reply and consistent hard work! If other things persist I will let you know as soon as possible! We value your work!
